The Track & Field device is an ultra-lightweight orthotic designed to provide dynamic arch support for high school to professional track and field athletes without adding unnecessary weight. A thin polypropylene frame is covered with a layer of Prolite for cushioning and shock absorption. As a sulcus-length device, it provides cushioning under the metatarsal heads, and it’s narrow finish allows it to fit in low-volume track spikes. A forefoot wedge post or medial flap may be recommended for some athletes. The Track & Field device is constructed with a positive model of the patient’s foot and can be modified at the practitioner’s discretion.
