We received an incredible email at KevinRoot Medical that is of historical interest and value:
“Hi there!
I was one of the first patients of Dr. Merton Root in 1954. I was 8 years old when he started helping me.
I was this little girl that taped the Kleenix to the bottom of my orthotic in a position to keep the heel from collapsing and to keep it in a stable position to help my instep being corrected. I don't know if you understand this but after Dr. Merton Root asked me why is there a tissue under my orthotic he started putting some hard plastic like he used to make orthotics under the heel and called it a posting.
He said I was brilliant for my discovery and invention. Can't remember his exact words but this is close enough:
IT WORKED! - Dr. Merton Root
I was so proud and relieved that I don't have to keep fixing it anymore.”
